CASE STUDY

A J MORRIS to undertake the bulk earthworks to transform Weston Park Golf Club to create a new home for the Royal Norwich Golf Club which was originally opened by King George V in 1893. The works included creating a 6 hole academy course as well as revamping the 18 hole golf course.

The works entailed stripping the topsoil off of the existing golf course to facilitate the tie in and reshaping of the golf course. In order to achieve the reprofiling 3D modelling and GPS was used to ensure that the works were completed within the stringent specification and tolerance's required to deliver a prestigious golf course worthy of a Royal title.

The works included the construction of a feature lake and a 45,000m3 reservoir on site to provide irrigation to the golf course.

During the process of construction, in order to reduce waste and minimise lorry movements, all excavated materials such as topsoil and subsoil were re-used on site.
